Amelie Soleil is also well known as The Girl in The Jar and can provide walkabout or static entertainment using this prop.
“Going Postal” Will sending a love letter be enough for her true love? Only Amelie herself could possibly do! Using her jar prop in a wholly original manner, Amelie posts a very special package indeed…
“Musicbox Dream” Debuted at San Franciscos TeaseOrama in 2008, Amelie’s tribute to Lois Fuller and music hall has been described as heartbreaking, evocative, delicate, and enchanting. This is especially suited to theatrical venues.
“Phoenix Fan Dance” Amelie’s traditional act with flame coloured fans to the classic 30s standard “Minnie The Moocher”. Barefoot and demi-point, Amelie connects with her audience for an intriguing and bewitching dance.
“Somewhere” A lifelong devotion to The Wizard of Oz is celebrated with Amelie’s Dorothy tribute. From rainbows swirling way up high to trailing yellow brick roads, the act moves from aching loneliness to clowning at its cutest.
“Feelin Good” Amelie Soleil shows the world just how good she feels on the aerial loop. Suspended in the air, this flexible starlet moves and turns until finally she lets go in a flourish of silken fabric.
Amelie was recently on tour with Piff The Magic Dragon, appearing as ‘Miss Amy Sunshine – The Girl with the Dragon to-do list.’
In 2012, they headlined 9 nights at Sydney Opera House, opened for the UK tour of Mumford and Sons to over 22,000 people, and had their first major UK 30 date tour.
What people who've seen this act had to say:
"Poise, innovation and talent; Amelie Soleil is the theatrical triple threat of circus-burlesque, her acts are beautifully choreographed, highly visual and subsumed with all sorts of wonderful circus mischief. As charming and funny as she is professional she has never failed to deliver a high-quality act and delight an audience."
- Rhymes With Purple, Glasgow based theatre company, winners of The Scottish Variety Award for Best Theatre Company 2009
“In a circuit which is full of generic performers, Amelie is one of the few people whose performances actually stand out from the rest due to their originality and the accomplished way in which she executes everything she does…”
- Ministry Of Burlesque, worldwide web based community forum & production company.
"Sweet but deadly, and wildly impressive, this is bona fide burlesque".
