Diaspora… United in the New World Beat. Blending a core of salsa, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian rhythms with funk, pop, soul and acid jazz, with a heavy emphasis on original material and anglo-Latin fusions, mixing English lyrics with Spanish and Portuguese.

Formed in March, 2009, at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Since then the band has performed all over the UK, touring concert venues, events (private / corporate), festivals, showcases and weddings. Diáspora has performed for clients such as Band on the Wall, Cultural Collage World Music Festival, KLM Airways, KRO Events, Manchester Food & Drink Festival, Manchester Jazz Festival, Matt & Phred's Jazz Club, Prestwich Festival and WPA Health Insurance.
