BubbleJos Kid’s Bubble Show

BubbleJo uses a wide range of exciting bubble tools and tricks to delight audiences of all ages. The show incorporates (just to name a few) fire bubbles, giant bubbles, billions of bubbles, bubbles within bubbles, and if the weather is just right we can even put the birthday boy or girl inside a bubble.
*Putting one or more people inside a giant bubble:
it is crucial that there be no moving air in the performance area to perform this trick

BubbleJo’s kids bubble show is 30 minutes long, but can be lengthened with the options below if you require the duration to last longer.

Kid’s Bubble Workshop Try-It Kit

(highly recommended as an add on!)

To extend the party by another 30 minutes BubbleJo can supply a bubble workshop for all the kids to have a go with some bubble toys that are age appropriate.
The kids will love trying what they saw in the show and ask BubbleJo questions on how to perform the best tricks.

Bubblejo also performs stilt walking acts, fire shows, light shows, and has a real 15 foot albino snake also available for events! Want to find out more? Just ask!

Circus Workshop Try-It Kit

Bubblejo can also bring his box of circus kit for everyone (children and adults!) to play with. Try spinning plates, juggling scarves or balls, stilts, staff spinning, poi spinning and more. This is also a 30-40 minute addition to the event after the show.

Stilt Walking Meet and Greet Set

Bubblejo offers a wonderful interactive meet and greet stilt walking set as the character of your choice, whether it be a Pirate, Genie or Disco Dancer, he will set the scene as your guests arrive for the party.

Technical Specifications

BUBBLEJO’S TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS AND SHOW DESCRIPTIONS

The Bubble Show requires a non slippery surface such as carpet, grass or concrete for safety reasons. If carpet is brought in, please choose a dark colour.

If indoor venue has air conditioning or fans, they will need to be suspended during the bubble performance.

Client to provide 1 large unbranded, clean bucket, of not less than 6 litres. This will be needed from arrival.

One plastic, square table at least 1 x 1 metre will also be required for performance.

OUTDOOR SHOW

Very different than my indoor show. People love to chase, pop, or just stare at the various sized giant bubbles I create. When it gets windy, I use a special tool called a garland. It creates hundreds of softball sized bubbles in just a few seconds that I shoot at the crowd. Please note that putting a person inside a bubble is not part of my outdoor show.

My Arrival

I will arrive about one hour early to set up. I prefer to unload my car at the same spot I will be performing at. I like to meet with my client, or their agent, to pick the best area for my show. Wind speed and direction, proximity to food and craft vendors, over head obstacles, sunlight, etc., all figure in.
An outdoor stage would not usually work for my show.

Set Up

I begin by creating a temporary, 20 ft. diameter performance area . This is my performance area. This area can setup by the client using other forms of barriers if so desired. There needs to be plenty of room outside this fencing for people to run, chase, and pop the bubbles. I may invite a few people to come into my performance area to use my tools to make some giant bubbles themselves. Takes me about 40 minutes to pack up and be gone.

I can put on a great show any time of day, weather permitting. Please know this, though: There are two times of the day that are usually the best times
for making the biggest and longest lasting giant bubbles. Before noon and after 6:00 PM. Generally, humidity is highest and wind is lowest at these times. Ideal for my outdoor show which usually lasts 30-45 minutes.

INDOOR SHOW

I use my bare hands, and a few simple tools, to create things like spinning belt bubbles, smoke
bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, volcano bubbles, etc. I usually end the show by putting one or more people inside a giant bubble. It is crucial that there be no moving air in my performance area.

My Arrival

I generally arrive at least one hour prior to my start time to set up my gear.
I will be pushing a 4 wheeled cart and will need direct access to my performance area. Sometimes, I prefer to be in front of a stage rather than on it. Closer to the audience is usually better. I lay down an 8'x8' plastic tarp or carpet, then a cloth tarp, to catch any drippings.

I will require help to put down and take up the floor protection for the show. The client can supply 2 people to help, or I can do it alone for an extra £40 + VAT. (please allow extra time for set up and takedown if choosing this option)

The Performance

I ask that people stay a few feet back from the front of my performance area.
I will sometimes use a wireless headset and / or background music as I perform.
Audience members are invited to participate and help me with a few tricks.

My show can be pure entertainment or more edu-tainment, if you wish. I often discuss some of the science / art of bubblesmithing. The show lasts approximately 30 minutes.

I would need you to provide the following:

1. At least an 8 ft. x 10 ft. area, free from any moving air.
2. A PA system and wireless mic if required.
3. At least one full hour of time to set up.

Please know that my outdoor show is very different than my indoor show.
