A tall figure wearing a black cape and bowler hat moves through the park. Under a tree she places two chairs. One for herself and the other…for a member of the audience. A crowd has gathered.
Finally, the moment has arrived, the mysterious woman sits on a small stool and places a black brief-case sized box on her lap. Her head lowers and her arms disappear within the sides of the box. Then from somewhere within music begins and the front panel of the box slowly opens to reveal a tiny theatre with two hands as the sole performers.
The hands produce a piece of paper from some hidden place and then begin an elegantly choreographed dance of Origami. Soon a finished model emerges, perhaps a swan, a fox, a peacock or a star. The music softens as the head of Marieke de Hoop re-emerges to offer the figure she has just created to the person on the other chair.
