Technical Requirements for Punch & Judy Puppet Shows
Booth Size: 1m x 1m x 2.5m
Area required: 2.5m x 2.5m for booth and a minimum of 10m x 5m for audience
Structure: The booth is constructed from a 20mm x 20mm aluminium frame with a canvas cover. The top board is made from wood and the designed top frontage is made from dibond aluminium.
Booth is secured by guy ropes if the surface is grass or by sand bags on a hard surface. If conditions are extremely inclement then an indoor area would be preferred.
Build time: 40 mins maximum Break down time: 25 mins minimum
The performer will provide a PA with enough power to play to audience of 100 people. If a larger audience is expected, an additional PA may be required at an additional cost.
Indoors: Client to provide access to 240V socket to power PA & wireless headset.
Outdoors: Performer will bring a battery pack to power PA using a wired mic.
Seating for audience
The Client to provide area in front of the booth for audience. This may simply be a floor space in front of booth or the Client may decide to provide picnic blankets, cushions, bean bags, hay bales or seating. This is at the Clients discretion.
In the event of inclement weather a covered, sheltered area may be appropriate but again at the Clients discretion.
Supervision of children during performance
The Performer will prior to the performance, inform the audience of the house rules during the performance. In particular,
a) audience sat directly in front the booth must remain seated throughout the show,
b) no grabbing puppets or props during the show
c) no one apart from the Performer is allowed in the booth.
If the client could provide assistance in enforcing these rules, it would be greatly appreciated.
